Finally on the Water!

Last weekend we finally made it onto the lake.  We took 2 small excursions.  One on Beaver Lake and one through the passage to Hemlock Lake.  The scenery is breath taking and the water so clean.  They are both "no wake" lakes, so it is nice and quiet.  No gas engines, just trolling motors.  We LOVE that!  We hope to get out in the kayaks next trip to do some more exploring and fishing too.

Everything is so green and lush!
As you enter our bay.  See our little Scamp. We need to clean up this area this summer.
However the downed tree limbs in this bay attract the turtles.  So, we get to watch them sun bathe.  Such fun!

Beaver Lake

We met with the septic/excavator and a builder.  We have arranged for a perc test for next week.  So, after that comes back we will proceed with having the new driveway done and the grading and fill on the lot.  Also having our large brush piles chipped next week so we can use that for some landscaping around the trees.  Lots to process in this adventure!

This is the double wide we have looked at in Chippewa Falls.  We love the layout of this one.  It is around 1000 sq feet.  So either a stick built or a manufactured would look like this.  The front of the house would over look our scenic bay.

Craig also met our new neighbor in the lot next to us.  He is very pleasant and together they have arranged for us to share electricity until we install ours.  We definitely will love that convenience.  He plans to use his lot for recreational use so we still will have our privacy when we build and live there.

Stay tuned!

I love your lake view and your comments on this delightful lot. Construction details seem to be proceeding right on schedule. You go, girl, always a wonder when those dreams start to come true.

Does sound like you're moving forward rather nicely -- hopefully no snags with the perc test.
Noted that the "turtles on the log" are "dinner plate plus" sized snapping turtles -- watch your toes!
